SCIBA TRIPLES WIN
24 Jan 2026
Our team of Charles Wright, Martin Biggleston & skip Rob Harris played an exciting and high quality game against John Cable, Steve Boswell & Rob Morphett (Falaise) in the Sussex County Indoor Triples and won 15-13, with the game going down to the last bowl of the match.
Everyone played well and, despite playing on a carpet heavier than they experience in Hastings, the Falaise team performed well, in a game that could have gone either way.
Two 'fours' decided the game with Falaise scoring their's on the fifth end. The scoring was nip and tuck, as can be seen from the scorecard, but on the 14th end, Harris moved the jack to score a massive four with a magnificent and tricky shot. Known for being a defensive player (and nothing wrong with that !), Rob showed that, when necessary, he can play any aggressive shot. He may even earn the sobriquet of "Trigger" or "Roy Rodgers", for the speed of his drawing to heads.
In the quarter finals, the Gullivers triple are at home to Jason Walter (Wealden) on Friday, 30th January at 6 pm. Spectators would be welcome.
